Roaches

There are four main types of roaches found in our service area. The most common among these four is the German Cockroach; however, all species are capable of invading and infesting your home. German Cockroaches are the most common because of their survivability. They can live in cold conditions with little or no food.

Roaches are not only a nuisance; they pose health risks as well. Cockroaches can carry and spread many diseases. As roaches attempt to stay near food sources, they can quickly run across kitchen countertops, inside cabinets, and within pantries. A roach that has come in contact with dishes, food, or food preparation surfaces can make you sick from the trail of contaminants they leave in the area. It is common for roaches to carry E. coli or Salmonella, which can cause a variety of gastrointestinal illnesses.

Cockroach waste can also cause allergic reactions. A cockroach nymph will shed their skin, leaving the skin shell behind. Additionally, roaches will expel saliva and fecal matter within the house. The presence of shells, saliva, and fecal matter can cause respiratory issues, skin rashes, and watery eyes. Those within the house who have asthma are more susceptible to becoming sick from cockroach waste.

Cockroaches do not discriminate which house they will invade. Without proper protection, a cockroach can easily enter your home and begin building a nest. Once a nest has been formed, roaches will reproduce and lay up to 50 eggs at a time. These eggs will mature into adults between 3 and four months, making infestation quick and undetectable. Once the first Cockroach enters your house, you can have an infestation quickly.
