Roaches

While they are commonly found in homes, it’s still a word that makes most people cringe: roaches. The body of a cockroach can squeeze through the tiniest openings to find their way into your home. Once inside, roaches will migrate to the warmest area in your home with a food or water supply, such as the bathroom or kitchen. Roaches are more active at night, leaving their living area to find food and water. It is not typical to see a cockroach during the day. A roach will make its appearance during the day if the living area has been overcrowded. Seeing a roach during the day is a sign of a more significant infestation beneath the surface.

Bed Bugs

Bed Bugs are the ultimate hitchhiker and can be picked up almost anywhere. Once in your home, they can get into all the rooms through door frames, windows, and cracks in the walls. If you’ve recently moved in some new furniture, you may even have brought the Bed Bugs in with it. Bed Bugs often lay eggs in the crevices of wood furniture. You are also more at risk if you travel, or if you regularly host travelers (for example, if you rent out your home as an Airbnb) since Bed Bugs love to grab a ride on clothing and luggage.

Rodents

No pest invokes a primal fear more than Rats. Rodents carry over 35 diseases, and these diseases can be transmitted both directly and indirectly. They are famous for being transmitters of the Plague. Even if you do not come in direct contact with an infected rodent, you can still become ill through the diseases carried by the fleas or ticks on them, exposure to their droppings, or food they have contaminated. The best way to ensure you do not become sick from rodents is to keep these contaminated pests out of your house.

Ants

One of the most common household insects that you will most likely deal with at some point of living in a home is ants. Ants are found just about all over the world and usually seek shelter inside dry, warm places such as homes, apartments, and duplexes. With an ample supply of food inside most homes, this makes the perfect spot for ants to live. If you have found ants in your home and are worried about an infestation, the pest experts at US Best Pest Control can get them cleared out.

Spiders

While there are more than 35,000 known species of spiders, not all of them can be found in homes. Very few spiders live as pests, but once they find a home, they can reproduce rapidly, making it difficult to get rid of them. Some of the most common home spiders include Yellow House Spiders, Jumping Spiders, Wolf Spiders, and the deadly Black Widow Spiders. Most spiders are harmless and can be beneficial in getting rid of other pests. The same cannot be said for the Black Widow Spider, due to its poisonous nature.
